All School-age (5-12 y.) Programs
We pride ourselves on our quality before and after-school programs. Designed specifically for elementary school age students, we provide them with age-appropriate activities in a safe and secure environment that allows children to be children. Our school-age class has a fun-filled curriculum which engages each child's curiosity and allows them to explore mathematical, scientific, art, and literary skills all while in a comfortable, stimulating environment. Weekly themes and strong curriculum keeps our children actively involved.
Teachers give all children a healthy afternoon snack when they arrive and then children are taken outdoors. Your child will have an array of enrichment activities to engage in after a stimulating day of learning at school and we also have teachers who are willing to help children with homework at the parent’s request. A junior library of non-fiction and fiction aged-appropriate books occupy the after-school classroom. Board games and a selection of online computer based learning programs will be offered as well.
Before & After School Care | School-Year Camp Days | Kindergarten-5th Grade
During the school year, TPCDC offers a before-and-after school program for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Children are grouped roughly by grade level: the "Bright Stars:" K, "Shining Stars:" 1st, "Rock'n Stars:" 2nd, the "Super Mighty Stars:" 3rd-5th. Children may attend before care and/or after care from one to five days/week, either on a scheduled basis or on a drop-in basis if space allows. The school year program involves diverse activities, including art, music, movement, and other lively activities designed to appeal to elementary school students. Teachers are happy to support children who wish to complete homework at TPCDC.
The Center follows federal government closings for weather and therefore is often open when the public schools are closed. On these days, TPCDC offers full day programs for school-agers. For an additional fee, families may also arrange for full day care on other days when the schools are scheduled to be closed, such as teacher work days or school holidays when special "camps" are offered.
Summer Camp | Rising 1st-6th Grade
TPCDC offers a full-day summer program during the public school summer recess. This program can be contracted either for the full nine weeks, or in one-week sessions. The summer program is designed to offer a creative and exciting way to spend hot summer days. The program makes use of local parks and swimming facilities, and sponsors regular field trips. Each session focuses on a special theme such as nature, music and movement, arts and crafts, or sports.
